The origins of the Blumenauer family date back to the German Empire. Wilhelm Blumenauer was the city surveyor in Kassel at the beginning of the 20th century. After the end of World War II, Hans Joachim Blumenauer continued this tradition, establishing his real estate brokerage firm in Kassel in 1949.
In 1958, he expanded to Frankfurt. In the financial metropolis, Blumenauer established itself as a leading brokerage organization with subsidiaries throughout Germany.
Hans Joachim Blumenauer founded the Association of German Brokers (VDM) and served as honorary president of the IVD German Real Estate Association until his death in 2009.
His sons, Harald and Claus, successively joined the management of their father’s company during the 1980s. The company gained international prominence after merging with two partners. The CBB (Chesterton-Blumenauer-Binswanger) group of companies had over 4,000 employees in 32 countries.
Claus Blumenauer, a real estate broker since 1974, started his own company in 2003. He is supported by his team and his wife Gabriele, who assists the company with dedication and expertise.
Since 2016, Dipl.-Ing. Roland Steiner has been active in management.
As of January 1, 2021, Claus Blumenauer handed over his company to younger, female leadership but will continue to serve as a consultant. His wife will also remain with the company. Roland Steiner manages the operational business.
