Women in Leadership

Martina Güttler is co-founder of the WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP (F!F) initiative in the real estate industry. The goal of the initiative: More women at the top of the German real estate industry. WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP actively drives the transformation toward greater diversity and a contemporary leadership culture in the real estate industry.

The initiative provides well-founded results on the obstacles to women’s careers in the industry and demonstrates how equal participation in corporate responsibility can be achieved. Numerous prominent figures, associations, and multipliers in the real estate industry support the initiative. They give a strong voice to the demand for diversity and equal career opportunities for women and men—within and beyond industry boundaries. They are all convinced that the real estate industry, as one of Germany’s largest economic sectors, needs more diversity at decision-making levels to remain economically successful and future-proof. The initiative is under the patronage of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The patron is State Secretary Claudia Dörr-Voß.

Bring more women to the top of the German real estate industry.

That is the goal of the WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP (F!F) initiative.

We want to encourage more women to start businesses and become entrepreneurs.

About Martina Güttler

Martina worked for many years as an architect on structural engineering projects in the residential and commercial sectors. She then spent 20 years in real estate management, most recently as Managing Director of Apleona GeServ GmbH. She is a business professional.

Since her role as Managing Director of the start-up company “Allthings”, she has been a strong advocate for digital solutions and their benefits for real estate processes.

Martina has one son and lives in Frankfurt am Main.

“Throughout my entire professional life, I was against quotas. I never wanted to demand privileges under compulsion. Only in recent years have I realized that without pressure, nothing will change regarding the low proportion of women in leadership positions. In our industry, the power of habit and adherence to supposedly proven methods are too strong. However, this attitude is backward-looking. Changes such as technological progress demand innovative solutions and approaches. Companies need interdisciplinary, diversely composed leadership teams. More perspectives at the table create more friction, but precisely because of this, lead to better results. It is time to reset the clock and finally offer women and men in the real estate industry equal career opportunities.” …Even though I now direct my own path, it is my great concern to give female knowledge holders in the real estate industry a stronger voice.
